No deal on an extension between Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Guerrero, who set a deadline for Feb. 17, said the two sides weren’t close to a contract agreement.
With Guerrero now poised to hit the open market after the 2025 season, he will no longer discuss an extension. Guerrero has indicated that he wants to be a Blue Jay for life, but the organization will have to compete against 29 other teams.

After the Red Sox inked Alex Bregman to a three-year deal, the three-time All-Star has no intention of changing positions.
Devers swiftly responded with a “no” when asked if he’s open to moving around the infeld or potentially becoming a DH, making it evident he wants to remain the everyday third baseman.

Mike Trout is moving to right field for the first time since 2012, when he was a rookie.
Trout has predominantly been a center fielder, but he’s been injury-riddled the last few seasons, so a shift to the corner outfield may keep him off the IL.
Trout only played in 29 games last season due to injury. He recorded a .220 BA, .325 OBP, and .541 SLG, with 10 home runs and 14 RBI.
Watch - AJ Pierzynski, Erik Kratz, and Scott Braun discuss Mike Trout switching positions.
