Division Races Clearing, North Side SURGE, Playoff Push Updates
It’s home stretch time, and teams are separating themselves in division races.
The Mariners entered the weekend four games back of the Astros before dropping their series to the Angels. Houston now holds a six-game cushion in the AL West after sweeping the Royals.
Over in the NL East, the Phillies are seven games up on the Braves after snatching their series against Atlanta over the weekend. The Braves are still one game up in the third Wild Card spot.
The Dodgers are five games up in the NL West over the Padres and Diamondbacks, who hold identical positions as the top two Wild Cards.

Did you know that the Cubs are currently the hottest team in the league?
The Cubbies have won nine of ten games (with double-digit run outputs in five of them) and their six-game win streak is the longest active surge in baseball.
The North Siders are just three games out of the third Wild Card spot, but they’ve got a tough road soon. They’ll face the Yankees then Dodgers after a three-game set with Colorado.
