Not long after Pete Rose's death, his family petitioned the Commissioner’s Office asking for his reinstatement.
Rose’s lawyer told ESPN that the family is seeking a Hall of Fame induction for MLB’s hit king. Pete Rose has been ineligible for the Hall of Fame since 1989 due to his lifetime ban.
According to a report by The Athletic, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred is considering the petition.
The news of the Rose family’s petition came to light just as President Trump announced he would posthumously pardon Rose.
