Oof White Sox L20, Sizzling AL MVP Race, No-No Snell

In partnership with

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the White Sox, it did.

Their 20-game losing streak is the longest in 36 years and just one short of the American League record.

What’s worse, if you were to revoke their current losing streak combined with their 14-game skid earlier this year, they’d still have the worst record in baseball.

Sunday’s loss put the White Sox on pace to finish 38-124, which would be the worst record since the Cleveland Spiders finished 20-134 in 1899.

Bobby Witt Jr. is making a sneaky case for American League MVP.

Witt took home AL Player of the Month honors for July after compiling 44 hits and a .489 batting clip. The last player to match those marks in a calendar month was Lou Gehrig in June of 1930.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge became the first player to reach 40 HR and 100 RBI with a 477-foot blast on Friday. Blue Jays Manager John Schneider opted to intentionally walk him four different times throughout the rest of the weekend.
