Game 2 of the ALCS was forecasted to be a battle of the aces, but that didn’t last.
Tanner Bibee was pulled in the second after allowing three runs (two earned), while Gerrit Cole was removed in the fifth after surrendering six hits, four walks, and a pair of runs.
Aaron Judge’s bat finally came to life with a homer in the seventh inning that made it 6-2. It was the 14th playoff homer of his career, one shy of tying Babe Ruth for fourth all-time in Yankees postseason history.
New York went on to win 6-3, taking a 2-0 lead as they head to Cleveland for Game 3 on Thursday.

The NLCS resumes in Queens tonight, with the series tied at one game apiece.
The Mets hand the ball to Luis Severino in Game 3, who has gone at least six innings in each of his two starts this postseason.
On the other side, Walker Buehler will make his second start this October for the Dodgers. He’s back this season from a second Tommy John surgery and hasn’t looked like his old Butane self all year.
Watch - Tune into our postgame show immediately following the conclusion of Game 3.
