Controversial Ending in Queens, Kwan Plays Hero, Machado Robbed Again, Twins Win Tenth Straight Despite Another Buxton Injury

Sure, Shota Imanaga dominated the Mets last night, but that’s not the story coming out of Queens.

The game’s conclusion caused an uproar when replay review confirmed the catcher was clear of blocking the plate on a play that would’ve tied the game had it been overturned.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza referenced this memo sent out during Spring Training to the media after the game when explaining his argument to the umpires.

Of course, we’ll talk about this today on FT Live!

What’s the difference between Superman and Steven Kwan?

Literally nothing, or at least that’s the conclusion we’ve come to after his all-around spectacular performance in last night’s extra-innings win in Houston.

Did that look familiar to you?

It probably does to FT’s Adam Jones, who robbed Manny Machado in nearly the same place during the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

Maybe Manny should stop hitting the ball in that direction, at least when he’s playing in San Diego.

At first, this umpire thought Byron Buxton was showing a lack of hustle after getting thrown out trying to steal second base in yesterday’s win over the White Sox.

Turns out, he was walking off slowly because of soreness in his right knee.

Regardless, the Twins won their 10th in a row and currently reside in *checks notes* FOURTH place in the AL Central, three games back of first.

Yeah, you read that right.
