Dodgers-Yankees was as advertised over the weekend.

Friday featured an 11-inning pitchers duel that saw Yoshinoubu Yamamoto go seven shutout innings. Teoscar Hernández broke the scoreless tie in the 11th, and the Dodgers opened the series with a 2-1 victory.

Hernández followed that up with a two-homer performance on Saturday in an 11-3 onslaught of the Yankees that Dodgers fans got to witness via a police escort into Yankee Stadium.

Even without Juan Soto, New York salvaged the series on Sunday, thanks largely to homers by Oswaldo Cabrera, Trent Grisham, and of course, Aaron Judge in a 6-4 win.

MLB wrapped up another set of international games over the weekend.

The Phillies took game one handily, and then the second game had late-inning drama. Philadelphia was down one with the bases loaded, but the Mets turned a rare game-ending 2-3 double play.

While players generally favored the experience, Bryce Harper and Jeff McNeil agree that the league should send more teams for the next international series and put on a cup-style tournament.
