FT Leadoff

NL Wild Card Chaos, Ohtani at 46/46

There’s a chance both the Braves AND Mets crack an NL Wild Card.

Both teams won their respective series this weekend and they sit at 78-65. These NL East foes meet for a three-game set in Atlanta during the season’s final week and that series will also determine the winner of the season series. That’s the first tiebreaker if their records end up equal.

Could the Diamondbacks end up as the odd team out? They sit just 1.5 games clear of the Mets and Braves after a rough weekend. The Snakes snapped a three-game funk on Sunday with a win in Houston.

Shohei Ohtani’s gaining ground on the first 50/50 campaign in MLB history. On Friday night, the 2-time MVP provided the only run for the Dodgers with a blast in a loss to the Guardians. On Sunday, he bopped a 450-footer to raise his total to 46 on the year. He didn’t swipe a bag this weekend so he’s at a nice even 46HR/46SB.
