MLB Sets Record Viewership in Japan, Bregman Reveals He Nearly Signed With Detroit

In Japan alone, 25 million viewers tuned into Game 1 of the 2025 Tokyo Series, making it the country’s most-watched game ever. To put this in perspective, Japan’s total population is 125 million, meaning 20% of the country was watching.

Sasaki tossed three innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts on Wednesday. He ran into some command issues (five walks) but escaped a bases-loaded jam in the third. His fastball reached 100.5 MPH, and his splitter was down to 443 RPM. Shohei Ohtani, Tommy Edman, and Kike Hernández all homered in the Dodgers 6-3 win.
