Alex Bregman Signs With Red Sox, Where's Vlad Jr.'s Extension?

Alex Bregman is shipping up to Boston.

Bregman’s 3-year, $120M deal with the Red Sox includes an opt-out after each season, as The Athletic’s Chandler Rome reported, but that wasn’t the only offer he received.

The two-time World Series Champion reunites with his former bench coach, Alex Cora, and provides a much-needed right-handed bat in the middle of the Red Sox’s lineup.

As time goes on, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s impending free agency looms.

Guerrero, a free agent following the 2025 season, gave the Blue Jays a deadline and will not discuss an extension once spring training commences.

The star-studded first-baseman had a dominant 2024 campaign, posting a .323 BA, .396 OBP, .940 OPS, and blasted 30 home runs to go with 103 RBI. While that could net a lot in a trade, the Blue Jays won’t be shopping him if they can’t agree on an extension, per ESPN.
