Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer addressed his club being linked to the two-time All-Star in a news conference on Sunday, citing he was “unclear” on whether or not the North Siders would make a big free agent splash ahead of Opening Day, specifically alluding to Bregman.

“I think you always look for the opportunity, but right now, we’re going to focus on the guys we have in camp. That’s the plan.”
