It wasn’t a great night to be a current or former closer in Cleveland on Thursday.

The Guardians handed Emmanuel Clase the ball with a two-run lead and two outs in the eighth. He promptly gave up back-to-back two-strike homers to Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, giving the Yankees a 4-3 lead.

After New York added an insurance run in the top of the ninth, [Big] Christmas came two weeks before Halloween. Down to their last out, Jhonkensy Noel’s two-run moon shot off Yankees closer Luke Weaver sent the game to extras.

David Fry then hit a two-run shot of his own off Clay Holmes, walking off one of the rockiest postseason games in recent memory. Luis Gil (NYY) is set to face off against Gavin Williams (CLE) tonight in Game 4, with Cleveland looking to even the series at two games apiece.
