Mets Making Noise, Wild Card Sliders, Front Office Turnover

The Mets are bringing Amazin back. Just a week ago, they were three games behind the Atlanta Braves for the final National League Wild Card spot. Fast-forward to now, and the Mets are riding a seven-game winning streak, trailing the Braves by just a half-game.

Demonstrating their resilience throughout the season, New York is making the NL Wild Card race a must-watch. The Mets and Braves will clash in a three-game series later this month that could determine the winner of the that final NL playoff spot.

Figuring out the three American League Wild Card seats might be a done deal already.

The Royals finally snapped a seven-game losing skid on Wednesday night against Cleveland, but they’re still in the playoff clear by 5.5 games. That’s because the Red Sox dropped a series to Detroit over the weekend and then just got swept up by the Mets.

The Mariners were yet another playoff hopeful that failed to take advantage of the Wild Card stumblers. A road trip along the California coast saw the M’s drop a series in Anaheim last weekend and then they lost a series in Oakland, where they were walked off twice.
