ESPN and MLB reached a “mutual agreement” to opt out of their TV deal after the 2025 season.

Commissioner Rob Manfred cited his displeasure with ESPN over the lack of MLB coverage outside of their live games in a memo obtained by The Athletic’s Evan Drellich.

MLB will now look to negotiate a new long-term deal with another network or streaming service to air the Home Run Derby, Wild Card games, and additional weekly regular season games, with the 35-year relationship between ESPN and MLB coming to a close.
